After Trisha, actress Nayanthara faces bomb threat at her Chennai residence | Details inside

New Delhi: A wave of panic spread across Chennai’s film circles on Tuesday (October 7) after a bomb threat email was sent to Tamil actress Nayanthara’s residence in Alwarpet’s Venus Colony. The threatening message, which was received at the Director General of Police (DGP) office, claimed that an explosive had been planted inside the actress’s home.

The incident follows a series of similar threats sent recently to the residences of prominent figures, including Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin and actresses Trisha and Swarna Mallya.

Nayathara faces bomb threat

As soon as the message reached the DGP office, Teynampet police were alerted, and a full-scale search operation was launched. Teams of police officers, accompanied by sniffer dogs and bomb detection squads, reached Nayanthara’s residence to inspect the premises. According to reports, the search was thorough and continued for several hours before authorities confirmed that the threat was a false alarm.

A police official stated that the house was locked at the time of the operation, as Nayanthara was out of the state for a film shoot. Only security personnel were present at the location when the police arrived. Officials are now tracing the origin of the email and are working to identify the unknown sender responsible for the hoax.

This incident marks the latest in a string of fake bomb threats targeting celebrities and political leaders in Tamil Nadu. Just last week, similar emails had been received threatening Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, actress Trisha, and actress Swarna Mallya. All of those cases were later confirmed to be baseless after detailed police investigations. Authorities believe that these repeated incidents are part of a coordinated attempt to create panic and are intensifying their cyber-tracking efforts.

Nayanthara’s work front

Meanwhile, Nayanthara remains focused on her upcoming film projects despite the unsettling news. The actress is currently shooting for Mookuthi Amman 2, directed by Sundar C, which is being produced on a Rs 100-crore budget. She is also set to appear opposite Yash in the much-anticipated pan-India film Toxic, and alongside Chiranjeevi in the Telugu feature Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu.
