According to reports, the sequel is being developed as a fresh story rather than a direct continuation of the 2016 film starring Kareena Kapoor Khan and Arjun Kapoor. Kiara has reportedly been approached for the project and is said to have shown interest, although she has not officially signed the film yet. The actress is reportedly in consideration for Ki & Ka 2, a new film based around the concept of the popular 2016 romantic comedy. As per a Jagran report, the makers have approached for the female lead. While the actress is believed to be interested in the project, she is yet to officially come on board. The team is also looking for an actor to play the male protagonist, meaning the primary casting is still underway.
Interestingly, Ki & Ka 2 is not expected to pick up the story of Kia and Kabir from the first film. Instead, the franchise is reportedly being reimagined with a completely new storyline.
