Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has given new information about the system of bringing back the body of famous singer Zubin Garg. Zubin died due to problems caused during the scuba diving in Singapore. The Assam CM said on his X account on Saturday that Singapore officials are doing post -mortem before handing over the body to India.
While sharing the update on X, Sarma wrote, “Singapore officials have confirmed that the post -mortem of our beloved Zubin Garg will be done. We hope it will be completed till 2 pm (SGT). After that, his body will be handed over to the Indian authorities, and we will start the process of bringing them home. I will keep informing you all.”

Earlier, CM Sarma along with his wife Riniki Bhuiyan Sarma went to the departed singer’s house in Guwahati to express condolences to the bereaved family. Sharing his feelings, he posted, “I and Riniki went to our beloved Zubin’s house in Guwahati to stand with his family in this hour of grief. Thousands of his fans are waiting on the streets to get his last glimpse – we are constantly in touch to bring him back to Assam soon.”
Meanwhile, fans across Assam, including Guwahati and Jorhat, were seen crying bitterly to their beloved singer paying homage to their beloved singers. On Friday, the Northeast India Festival confirmed in a statement that the 51 -year -old artist had a serious problem in breathing during the Scuba Diving session. The statement further said, “He was immediately given a CPR before being taken to Singapore General Hospital. Despite efforts to save him, he was declared dead in the ICU at around 2:30 pm (IST) at around 2:30 pm.”

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also expressed his condolences to the late singer Zubin Garg. Expressing surprise in the X post, PM Modi wrote, “I am shocked by the sudden demise of famous singer Zubin Garg. He will be remembered for his brilliant contribution to music. His songs were very popular among people of every class. Condolences to his family and fans. Om Shanti.” Known for his contribution to the Indian music industry, Zubin Garg has given memorable songs in Assamese, Hindi and Bengali. His most popular song was Emraan Hashmi and Kangana Ranaut’s film ‘Gangster’ or Ali.
