After taking leave from IPL, he returned to PSL after 6 years, this all-rounder dominated in the very first match

The day of starting of IPL 2026 season has come. The world’s biggest and famous T20 league is starting from Saturday 28th March. Many famous players from different countries including India will participate in it and will entertain the fans for the next 2 months. Among the players who have not got a chance this season, some of them are playing in Pakistan’s PSL league and one of them led the team to victory in his very first match. In the second match of PSL 2026, Karachi Kings defeated Quetta Gladiators by 14 runs and English all-rounder Moeen Ali became the star of this victory.

This feat of Moeen Ali was seen in the second match of the PSL 2026 season, which started 2 days before the IPL, where he is playing for Karachi Kings. In this match played in Lahore on Friday, March 27, Karachi batted first and scored 181 runs losing 7 wickets. The team was able to reach this score because Moeen played a strong inning of 48 not out in just 29 balls, which included 4 fours and 3 sixes. Apart from him, team captain and veteran opener David Warner also scored a quick 35 runs.

After this it was the turn to do wonders with the ball and here too Moeen Ali contributed. This England all-rounder showed wonders with his off-spin. Moeen started the bowling and took 1 wicket while giving only 26 runs in 4 overs, which was of Quetta captain and opener Saud Shakeel. Not a single boundary was hit in Moeen’s 4 overs. Whereas, experienced fast bowler Hasan Ali wreaked havoc on the batsmen of Quetta and took 4 wickets while spending only 27 runs in 4 overs. For Quetta, opener Shamil Hussain scored a quick 53 runs in just 24 balls but it was not enough to win and the team could score only 167 runs.

Moeen Ali was chosen player of the match for this performance. This match was special for him because he returned to PSL after 6 years. Moeen was last a part of PSL in 2020. Since then, he was playing only in IPL, where in the last season he was in Kolkata Knight Riders. But this time no team bought him in the auction. In such a situation, he turned to PSL.
