New Delhi: After not getting a chance to bat during India’s first innings on Day 3 of the ongoing 1st Test against West Indies, star all-rounder Nitish Reddy pulled off a stunner on the field to turn heads. Reddy’s turn with the bat didn’t come as India surprisingly decided to declare their first innings early on Day 3 at 448/5, having amassed a strong lead of 286 runs.

India declared on their overnight score of 448/5 and didn’t come out to bat on Day 3 in a bid to wrap up the Test match early. As a result, Ravindra Jadeja finished unbeaten on 104, while Washington Sundar remained not out on 9 off 13 balls. Reddy, who was set to bat after Sundar, didn’t get a chance to bat.

However, the all-rounder remained unfazed and produced a spectacular effort on the field during West Indies’ second innings at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Reddy plucked a flying stunner to dismiss West Indies opener Tagneraine Chanderpaul and help the hosts draw the first blood in the visitors’ second innings.

Chanderpaul pulled a slightly shortish ball from Siraj away towards square leg, where Reddy flew towards his left to pluck a stunner. It was an exceptional display of agility and reflexes from the Indian all-rounder, who timed his dive to perfection to secure a brilliant catch.
