Uttarakhand all-rounder Yuvraj Chaudhary put on a marvellous all round show against Sikkim during Group B fixture of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2024-25 on Wednesday, November 27 at Emerald High School Ground, Indore.
Yuvraj first picked up of 4/15 with the ball to restrict Sikkim to 86/7 after their captain Palzor Tamang opted to bat first.
The left-arm spinner registered his career-best figures as he dismissed Nilesh Lamichaney, Parth Palawat, Anwesh Sharma and Pranesh Chettri. Later with the bat, he scored a quick-fire 61* (26) with the help of nine fours and three sixes helping his team chase down the target in just 7.1 overs and win the match by eight wickets. Courtesy of his all-round performance, Yuvraj was also adjudged Player of the Match.
His performance comes days after Chaudhary sparked the interest of the Lucknow-based franchise due to his brilliant numbers in the shortest format having 385 runs from 12 matches at an average of 48.12 and a strike rate of 154.61 with one hundred and two fifties. Apart from that, he also has eight wickets to his name in his T20 career.
Yuvraj’s brilliant form in domestic season
Yuvraj has been in brilliant form in the ongoing domestic season as he earlier played brilliant knocks of 15878 against Rajasthan. He’s the second highest run scorer for his team in the Ranji Trophy so far with 497 runs to his name from 10 innings at an average of 49.70 having registered one hundred and two half centuries.
Meanwhile, making him the most expensive player in the history of IPL auction. Apart from him, Lucknow bought other big stars such as Mitchell Marsh (Rs 3.40 crore), David Miller (Rs 7.50 crore), Shamar Joseph (75 lakh) among others.
