Afghanistan vs Bangladesh: Afghanistan has won the ODI series against Bangladesh. He made a clean sweep in the 3 ODI series. Afghanistan sealed Bangladesh’s elimination in the series by winning the last match played on October 14 in Abu Dhabi. This was Afghanistan’s 5th consecutive ODI series win. In the last ODI of the series, the margin of defeat of Bangladesh was only 200 runs. Before this, no team had to face defeat by such a margin of runs in the ODI played in Abu Dhabi. This was also Afghanistan’s second biggest win in terms of runs in ODIs. Earlier, it had defeated Zimbabwe by 234 runs in December 2024.
The one who scored 213 runs became a hero
Ibrahim Zadran played a big role in Afghanistan winning the 5th consecutive ODI series. He scored 213 runs alone in the series. He scored these runs with the help of 14 fours and 3 sixes at an average of 71 in the 3 matches played in the series. In this series, Zadran missed his century twice and both times the margin of his miss was 5 runs. He played innings of 95-95 runs in the second and third ODI of the series.
Bilal becomes Kaal for Bangladesh
Ibrahim Zadran’s 95 runs played a role in Afghanistan winning the third and last ODI of the series against Bangladesh. He was the top scorer of his team. Apart from him, Mohammad Nabi scored 62 runs. Afghanistan, playing first, scored 293 runs for 9 wickets. In reply, Afghan team’s bowler Bilal Shami became a bone of contention for Bangladesh. He created such an obstacle in their path with his balls that the journey to victory became a daunting task.
10 batsmen did not score 10 runs, lost by 200 runs
The balls of Bilal Shami and Rashid Khan had such an impact on Bangladesh that it became difficult for 10 out of 11 batsmen to score even 10 runs. Meaning he could not even touch double figures. For Bangladesh, only one of its openers, Saif Hasan, played an inning of 43 runs. In the 50 over innings, the entire Bangladesh team could play only 27.1 overs. He scored only 93 runs and thus lost the match by 200 runs.
What did Bilal and Rashid do together?
Bilal Shami was responsible for the poor condition of Bangladesh in the third ODI of the series, who took 5 wickets for 33 runs in 7.1 overs. He is the third Afghan bowler to take 5 wickets in ODI against Bangladesh. Apart from them, Rashid Khan’s spin also troubled Bangladesh no less. He took 3 wickets giving 12 runs in 6 overs.
Afghanistan won 5th consecutive ODI series
Afghanistan has won its 5th consecutive ODI series by clean sweeping Bangladesh in 3 matches. This is the second time during those 5 series that it has won the ODI series against Bangladesh. Apart from Bangladesh, it has defeated Ireland once, South Africa once and Zimbabwe once.
