Adivi Sesh’s “G2”, the sequel to the hit spy thriller “Goodachari”, has been in the making for more than four years. The prolonged production has also led to speculation that the film might have been shelved. However, Sesh chose to focus on “Dacoit”, which arrived in theatres in April 2026, before returning to complete “G2”.
With the spy actioner now nearing the completion of its shoot, the team is looking at a theatrical release in February. According to sources, February 5, 2027 has been finalized as the tentative release date. An official announcement is expected shortly.
After the success of “Goodachari”, Sesh could have prioritized the sequel, but the team took more time to make “G2” on a bigger scale. The prolonged process resulted in repeated delays.
The film is now being wrapped up, with the makers planning a major theatrical release. The film is said to have shaped up as a much bigger spectacle than its predecessor.
Wamiqa Gabbi is playing the female lead. She recently made an impact with “DC”, which emerged as a notable success in the Telugu market. Emraan Hashmi plays the main antagonist.
