Aditya Roy Kapur On Being Praised For Looks Over Acting Skills: Don’t Lose Too Much Sleep Over It

Aditya Roy Kapur recently stunned us all with his acting skills in Anurag Basu’s Metro… In Dino, where he was paired opposite Sara Ali Khan.

The actor has now spoken about how his appearance often gets more attention than his craft. He admitted that despite doing several films, conversations tend to revolve around his looks rather than his acting. However, the actor shared that he doesn’t let such opinions affect him. Instead, he chooses to keep his focus on his projects and growth as an artist, ignoring any distractions that might take him away from his work.

Aditya Roy Kapur on being distant from social media

Aditya told Hindustan Times, “I guess I do get that, but I don’t try and think about that or lose too much sleep over it. Eventually, I think water finds its level and the more work you do, you know that’ll come to the fore. If you start thinking about things like ‘I’m not getting this’ and you start looking for validation, then you can very easily become cynical and start having a negative attitude towards things.”

He also added, “If you feel people are praising you for something, at least they’re not saying something bad. So, it’s fine. Eventually, the work speaks for itself. And if you’ve done enough work over time, I think people realise your worth eventually.”

Aditya likes to stay away from social media chitchats. He said, “I don’t read a lot of stuff about myself. I’m not queued in that much on my own self. So, sometimes ignorance is bliss. You can choose how much you want to clutter your head or declutter your head.”

In Metro… In Dino, Aditya played the role of Parth, a man hesitant about long-term commitment. His life took an unexpected turn when he developed feelings for Thumri, portrayed by Sara, who happened to be engaged.
