From October 18 to October 30, the UP government has declared an incentive period for bus drivers. For passengers from Delhi to Eastern UP, additional buses will run on major routes including Lucknow, Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Ayodhya, Kanpur.

Lucknow. On the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Uttar Pradesh government has started extensive preparations to ensure safe and smooth travel of the people of the state on major festivals like Diwali, Bhaiya Dooj and Chhath. The incentive period has been declared from October 18 to October 30, 2025. Officials have been instructed to ensure maximum bus operation and passenger convenience. Drivers will be strictly monitored. It will be investigated whether he consumed drugs or not.

Additional bus service will run from Delhi to Purvanchal

Minister of State for Transport (Independent Charge) Dayashankar Singh said that keeping in mind the huge crowd of passengers during festivals, additional buses will be run on major routes including Lucknow, Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Ayodhya, Kanpur for passengers from Delhi to Eastern Uttar Pradesh. The number of buses will also be increased for Ghaziabad, Meerut, Moradabad, Bareilly, Saharanpur, Agra, Aligarh and Etawah.

All buses will remain on-road, special emphasis on safety and convenience

The Transport Minister directed that all corporation buses should remain 100 percent on-road during this period. Unfit buses will not be operated under any circumstances. Availability of assembly of buses, spare parts and necessary equipment should be decided. For the convenience of passengers, arrangements for cleanliness, drinking water, seating arrangements, digital timetable and help centers should be made at bus stations.

Employees will get special incentives

The government has announced an economic incentive scheme for drivers, helpers and employees working during the incentive period. Managing Director of Transport Corporation, Prabhu Narayan Singh said that the drivers or assistants who will drive the bus on an average of 300 km per day while on duty for 12 days, will be given an incentive amount of Rs 4800 at the rate of Rs 400 per day.

If an employee does duty continuously for 13 days and fulfills the prescribed standards, he will get an incentive amount of Rs 5850 at the rate of Rs 450 per day. Drivers and assistants working on contract will be given an additional honorarium of ₹0.55 per km if they earn more kilometers than the standard. Employees working in workshops will get a lump sum incentive of ₹ 2500 for 13 consecutive days on duty and ₹ 2100 for 12 days. For excellent work, regional managers will be given Rs 10,000, service managers will be given Rs 5,000 and assistant regional managers will be given additional incentive on the basis of buses.

Breath analyzer test will be mandatory

The Transport Minister also directed that during the incentive period, enforcement teams should conduct continuous inspections and breath analyzer tests should be conducted on all drivers and conductors, so that safe travel can be ensured.
