Adani Group’s power game
Adani Group, one of India’s largest business groups, has now taken another big step in the energy sector. The company has announced a massive Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in Khavra, Gujarat, which will have a capacity of 1126 MW / 3530 MWh. This project is targeted to be completed by March 2026 and is being called India’s largest single-location energy storage project.
India’s largest energy storage project
This mega project is being built in Khavda, Gujarat, which is already one of the largest renewable energy hubs in the world. More than 700 battery containers will be installed in this project which will help in storing electricity for a long time. When this project becomes operational, it will be able to store up to 3530 MWh of electricity. Which can increase the power supply of 1126 MW for about three hours.

Adani Group is already active in manufacturing green energy, solar panels and wind equipment. Adani Green Energy is India’s largest green energy developer company. At the same time, under Adani Enterprises, Adani New Energy manufactures solar and wind energy equipment. Now this new step of the company can make it a leader in the field of energy storage also.

Connection to global technology
This announcement of Adani Group has come at a time when the group recently visited China’s lithium-ion battery manufacturer CATL (Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Limited). CATL’s ‘TENER’ energy storage container is considered one of the most advanced battery technologies in the world.
