Adani-Embraer partnership: Catalysing India’s regional jet manufacturing

New Delhi: Adani Group has joined hands with Brazil’s Embraer to manufacture Embraer’s regional jets in India, a report said. The jets manufactured will be run on short- to medium-haul routes with seating for 70 to 146 passengers.

According to a report in Times of India, Adani Aerospace has signed a memorandum of understanding with Embraer in Brazil. The company is expected to make a formal announcement later this month at the Hyderabad Air Show.

Adani Group plans to enter engine MRO

In December 2025, Adani Group had divulged its plans to enter into engine MRO as well as passenger-aircraft-to-freighter (P2F) conversion. It is planning big bets in India’s aviation market.

“We have separated the two (aviation). One is the airport infrastructure and the other one is the aircraft services business. So that can include dual use, defence and civilian use. So, between Indamer and Air Works (MROs), we are now combining the platform into a single giant MRO company,” Jeet Adani, Director of Adani Airport Holdings Ltd (AAHL), had told PTI.

Jeet Adani MRO is a fast-growing segment, adding, “Now we are expanding that as well to increase our capabilities on landing gear, paint, P2F (passenger-to-freighter) conversions, and hopefully at some point, engines.”

The Adanui Group made its entry into MRO segment in December 2024 following the acquisition of aviation maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services firm Air Works for an enterprise value of Rs 400 crore, strengthening its foothold in the defence MRO sector.
