Adam Wharton Has Potential To Play For Real Madrid, Claims Clinton Morrison

Clinton Morrison, a former Crystal Palace star, believes Adam Wharton has the potential to play for top clubs like Real Madrid. The 21-year-old midfielder has become crucial for Palace under Oliver Glasner, contributing to their FA Cup victory last season and the Community Shield win this term.

Wharton has been capped three times by England and leads Palace midfielders in successful passes into the opposing half and final third in the Premier League.

Morrison, who scored over 100 goals for Palace, hopes Wharton remains with the Eagles but acknowledges his future might lie elsewhere. “I think he could go abroad and play [for Madrid] because the tempo of his game is so good on the ball,” Morrison told Stats Perform. He praised Wharton’s forward-thinking playstyle and expressed admiration for his abilities, considering him one of his favourite Premier League players.

Despite wanting Wharton to stay at Palace for a few more seasons, Morrison admits that fans expect him to eventually join elite clubs like Barcelona or Real Madrid. He believes Wharton’s style would suit these teams well. The speculation around Wharton’s future continues as several top clubs show interest in signing him.

Morrison also commended Oliver Glasner’s influence at Crystal Palace. “First and foremost, I’d say Glasner is probably going to go down as one of the best Palace managers ever for what he’s done, bringing two trophies to the club,” Morrison stated. He praised Glasner’s managerial skills and noted how players embrace his vision.

Morrison expressed a desire to have played under Glasner, highlighting his effectiveness as a manager. Under Glasner’s leadership, Crystal Palace has achieved significant success, including winning two major trophies.

Mateta’s Rising Star

Jean-Philippe Mateta, Palace’s top scorer this season with eight goals across all competitions, also received praise from Morrison. Mateta recently netted his second goal in just three senior international appearances for France. “One of the nicest blokes you’ll ever meet,” Morrison said about Mateta. He described Mateta as humble and dedicated to improving his game.

Morrison emphasised Mateta’s hard work and talent, hoping for continued success for him, Crystal Palace, and Glasner. Mateta’s dedication is evident as he continues to showcase his skills on both domestic and international stages.

The future looks promising for both Adam Wharton and Jean-Philippe Mateta at Crystal Palace under Oliver Glasner’s guidance. While Wharton’s potential move to an elite club remains a topic of discussion, his current contributions are invaluable to the team. Meanwhile, Mateta continues to impress with his performances on the field.
