Actor Adivi Sesh is all set to welcome the New Year 2026 in a unique way. Instead of celebrating at a party or holiday destination, he will be shooting the climax of his upcoming film Dacoit on a rocky mountain in a remote location.
Talking about his New Year plans to IANS, Sesh said, “I’ll be welcoming the New Year in a truly unique way, shooting the big climax sequence of Dacoit on a rocky mountain in the middle of nowhere.” He described the location as completely isolated, with no mobile network and surrounded by pitch darkness.
No network, clean air, and complete isolation
The actor shared that despite the isolation, the experience will be refreshing. “What we’ll have instead is clean air, great AQI, and the raw energy of nature, an unforgettable way to step into the New Year,” he said. He added that the solitude and connection with nature will make the shoot special.
About the film Dacoit
Dacoit is a romantic action thriller starring Mrunal Thakur and featuring Anurag Kashyap in a pivotal role. The film also stars Prakash Raj, Sunil, Atul Kulkarni, Zayn Marie Khan, and Kamakshi Bhaskarla. The story traces the journey of an angry convict seeking revenge on his ex-girlfriend, evolving into a tale of love, betrayal, and vengeance.
Pan-India release plans
Shot simultaneously in Hindi and Telugu, the story and screenplay have been co-written by Sesh and director Shaneil Deo. The film is in post-production and is slated for a pan-India release on March 19, 2026, with dubbed versions planned in Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada.
During the Telugu teaser launch in Hyderabad, Sesh spoke about his four-year absence from the screen. He admitted, “This time, I thought, ‘why not do two passion projects at once?’ I sat down to work on the scripts for Dacoit and G2 at once. That was a mistake.”
What’s next for Adivi Sesh
He also confirmed details about his upcoming project G2, the sequel to Goodachari. “Like Dacoit is arriving on Ugaadi festival, I promise G2 will also arrive on a festival,” he said. About future projects, he added, “There are a couple of scripts I’ve liked. I will do them without my involvement as a writer.”
This New Year, Adivi Sesh will be celebrating in the raw outdoors, exchanging city lights and parties for mountains, darkness, and the thrill of cinema.
