On January 31, Tofail Ahmed allegedly took the woman to a hotel in Gulshan and introduced her as his wife. It has been said in the complaint that during that time physical relations were established without consent. The woman alleges that Tofel kept assuring her of marriage.

The woman also accused Tofel of physically assaulting her on several occasions. When he questioned her about marriage, the fast bowler refused. After this the woman registered a case at Gulshan Police Station on August 1.
Case registered against fast bowler
Gulshan Police Station Sub-Inspector Mohammad Samiul Islam confirmed the case and said that it has been registered under Section 9(1) of the Prevention of Abuse of Women and Children Act. In the investigation, the hotel reservation, medical report and other evidence given by the woman have been found to be initially reliable. The court had granted anticipatory bail to Tofel and ordered him to appear before the Women and Child Abuse Prevention Tribunal. However, it is being said that Tofel did not follow the court’s instructions. The next hearing is scheduled to be held on December 30, in which the charge sheet will be formally presented.
