A unique and shocking case related to the Income Tax Department has come to light in Gautam Buddha Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh. Actually, IT has sent notices to more than 40 such millionaire businessmen who have not used bank accounts for the last three years. Despite this, businessmen and their families lived with dignity. The surprising thing is that the amount in the accounts has increased, but the money has not been withdrawn for expenditure. More than half of the businessmen who received notices are said to be related to the real estate sector. The department has asked for complete details of income and expenditure along with documents under Section 142(1) of the Income Tax Act, 1961.
This action by the Income Tax Department is not limited only to Gautam Buddha Nagar. Such notices have also been sent to other districts of the state, although the maximum number of cases have been reported from Noida. In Ghaziabad also, about 12 millionaires have received similar notices. After analyzing the Annual Information Statement (AIS), the department has raised the question that when money was not withdrawn from the bank, how were the daily and luxuries expenses met?
The department asked for this information in the notice
- The Income Tax Department has sent a notice to millionaires asking for information about their monthly expenses.
- The department has said how much they spend on ration every month. Which includes flour, rice, spices, oil, gas etc.
- Millionaires will have to give information about electricity bills, expenses on clothes, shoes, polish, hair cut, cosmetics, even perfumes.
- On the other hand, the department has asked them to provide information about the expenditure on social events.
- The department has also sought information about the expenditure on children’s school fees, books and clothes.
- You have been asked to pay everything from driving expenses to car insurance, health insurance, building maintenance, building insurance, life insurance.
- The department has even sought information about the expenditure on gifts to relatives and others, and has also asked Rene to provide information about the expenditure on restaurants every month.
- The department said that all the information sought will have to be given along with the breakup. If any other member is bearing the entire expense, then along with his income, the information about the money withdrawn from the house will have to be given to the department along with proof.
