According to Exit Polls, who among the 28 ministers of Nitish Kumar is leading?

Voting for Bihar elections 2025 ends. The results on November 14 will decide the future of 28 ministers (BJP-17, JDU-11). There is a tough fight for the seats of both the Deputy CMs, while many other ministers are leading.

Voting for both the phases of Bihar Assembly Elections 2025 has ended. Now the results on November 14 will decide how many of the 36 ministers of Nitish government were successful in saving their positions. 28 out of 36 ministers were in the fray in this election, including 17 from BJP and 11 from JDU. According to various exit polls, there is a close contest on the seats of many veterans, while some ministers are strongly maintaining their lead.

Tough competition for Deputy CM seats

This time the seats of both the Deputy Chief Ministers of Bihar are in discussion, where the competition looks tough.

Samrat Chaudhary (Deputy Chief Minister, BJP): Contesting from Tarapur seat in Munger district. RJD’s Arun Kumar Sah is giving a tough competition to him. The OBC (Kushwaha) community dominates the politics of Tarapur, due to which the contest has become very tough.

Vijay Kumar Sinha (Deputy Chief Minister, BJP): Contesting from Lakhisarai seat. The contest is with Amresh Kumar Anees of Congress. Despite the initial lead, both the candidates are now facing a tough fight.

Ministers who are leading (leading)

  • Nitin Naveen (Road Construction Minister, BJP): He is contesting from Bankipur seat of Patna and is looking ahead in a one-sided contest.
  • Lacey Singh (Food and Consumer Protection Minister, JDU): She is a three-time MLA from Dhamdaha seat and is currently looking ahead.
  • Neeraj Kumar Bablu (Public Health Engineering Minister, BJP): He has been winning from Chhapapur (Supaul) seat for three consecutive times and is looking ahead this time too.
  • Mangal Pandey (Health Minister, BJP): Bahubali is contesting from Shahabuddin’s stronghold Siwan and is leading against veteran RJD leader Avadh Bihari Chaudhary.
  • Prem Kumar (BJP): He is contesting from Gaya Town seat for the ninth time and has been MLA for 8 consecutive times. He seems to be taking a strong lead.
  • Nitish Mishra (BJP): He is contesting from Jhanjharpur in Madhubani and is seen carrying forward the legacy of his father Jagannath Mishra.
  • Vijayendra Prasad Yadav (Energy Minister, JDU): He has been winning from Supaul seat continuously since 1990 and is looking ahead this time too.

hard hitting seats (stuck)

  • Jama Khan (Minority Minister, JDU): Contesting from Chainpur seat. He is contesting against BSP’s Dheeraj Kumar Singh, and there is a tough fight between the two, due to which the seat is stuck.
  • Madan Sahni (Social Welfare Minister, JDU): Despite a tough contest from RJD’s Bhola Yadav, he is looking ahead from Bahadurpur seat.
  • Surendra Mehta (Sports Minister, BJP): He won the last election from Bachhwara seat of Begusarai by only 484 votes, but this time his position looks strong.

Status of other ministers

  • Kedar Prasad Gupta, who is from BJP and Panchayati Raj Department, is maintaining a strong lead in Kudhani (Muzaffarpur) seat.
  • Sunil Kumar, who is a JDU and education department minister, is maintaining a strong lead in Bhore (Gopalganj) seat; Last time he had won by a margin of only 462 votes.
  • Renu Devi, who is from BJP and Animal Husbandry Department, is leading from Bettiah (West Champaran) seat.
  • Krishnanandan Paswan, BJP’s sugarcane industry minister, is leading in Harsiddhi (East Champaran) seat.
  • Jayant Raj, JDU and Building Construction Minister, has the upper hand on Amarpur (Banka) seat.
  • Sumit Kumar Singh, JDU’s Science and Technology Minister, is leading from Chakai (Jamui) seat.
  • Sheela Mandal, JDU and Transport Department Minister, is leading from Phulparas (Madhubani) seat.
  • Sanjay Saraogi, BJP’s Revenue and Land Reforms Minister, is leading from Darbhanga seat.
  • Jeevesh Kumar, BJP’s Urban Development and Housing Minister, is leading from Jale (Darbhanga) seat.
