Abhishek Sharma shattered the record book as he continued his dream run of form in the 2025 Asia Cup during the final Super Four stage match of the tournament between India and Sri Lanka on Friday (September 26) at the Dubai International Stadium with a knock of 61 in just 31 balls at a strike-rate of 196.77 in a knock that included eight boundaries and two sixes.
This is the third successive half-century for Abhishek in the tournament, having also reached the milestone in the second round games against Pakistan and Bangladesh with knocks of 74 of 39, and 75 of 37, respectively. In the three group stage games, Abhishek scores of 30s in all matches. He has a stunning tally of 309 runs in six innings with an average of 51.40 and strike-rate of 204.6,4 which have seen him hit 31 fours and 19 sixes.
Abhishek Sharma Breaks Mohammad Rizwan’s Record
Abhishek went past Mohammad Rizwan’s tally and has the most runs in a single edition in the single edition of the Asia Cup in the T20 format. The 25-year-old broke the record of the Pakistan wicket-keeper batter, which he set in the 2022 edition when his team lost to Sri Lanka in the final.
