Actor Abhay Verma has shared an emotional account of shooting a scene with Shah Rukh Khan for the upcoming film ‘King’, describing the experience as the happiest day of his life.
On Monday, Abhay posted pictures of his diary on Instagram, recalling how nervous he was when he learnt that he would be sharing a scene with the Bollywood superstar. He said Shah Rukh put him at ease with his warmth, humility and humour.
Recalling their rehearsals, Abhay wrote, “I suddenly got very nervous then the sir came and greeted me with a kiss on the cheek.” He also shared a light-hearted exchange in which Shah Rukh initially agreed when Abhay asked if he could put weight on his hand, before joking, “Not right now, son”. The two laughed together during rehearsals.
Abhay praised Shah Rukh’s professionalism, saying, “I honestly haven’t seen a more professional actor than Shah sir.” He added that even when the superstar was unwell, he never let anyone on the set know that he was sick.
The actor also recalled sitting with Shah Rukh and watching him and Pooja create magic on set. He said their quick wit and the way the superstar made everyone comfortable left him deeply inspired.
Calling it “by far the best day of my life”, Abhay wrote that meeting Shah Rukh and experiencing his warmth on set made a long-held dream come true.
