On July 22, at Northampton, in the match between India Champions and South Africa Champions, AB de Villiers and Sarel Erwee together took a stunning catch off Imran Tahir’s ball to dismiss Yusuf Pathan.
Yusuf Pathan tried to hit the fuller towards the long-on but did not get enough distance. AB de Villiers, at the boundary, got hold of the ball but slid backwards towards the boundary. By that time Sarel Erwee came running to AB, and realizing the danger, he threw the ball to Erwee, who almost had to dive forward to catch the ball.

South Africa Champions outclassed India Champions by 88 runs (DLS method) in the 6th match of the World Championship of Legends at Northampton. Batting first, the Proteas Legends posted a mammoth 206/6 in 20 overs. AB de Villiers was the star, smashing an unbeaten 61 off just 30 balls, with support from JJ Smuts (30 off 17) and Jacques Rudolph (24). India’s bowlers struggled, with Piyush Chawla (2/31) and Yusuf Pathan (2/26) being the only wicket-takers of note.
Chasing a revised target of 200 in 18.2 overs, India Champions collapsed under scoreboard pressure, managing only 111/9. Stuart Binny top-scored with a valiant 37*, but the rest faltered. Openers Uthappa and Dhawan fell early, and Ambati Rayudu was dismissed for a duck. South Africa’s bowlers shared the spoils, with Aaron Phangiso (3/17) and Imran Tahir (2/24) leading the charge. Parnell also claimed 2 wickets without conceding a run.
India’s decision to field first backfired as their bowlers leaked runs and their batting lineup crumbled. With this dominant win, South Africa Champions secured two crucial points and boosted their net run rate significantly in the tournament.
