Written by Kunal Verma and composed by Dev Sadanaa, the track has already clocked 12 million views on YouTube. During its promotions, Zoom exclusively interacted with Aastha. The singer not only spoke about her track, but also reflected on the use of artificial intelligence in music. She admitted that AI is a ‘bane’ in the music industry. Wondering why? Here’s what she said.
Aastha Gill on AI in music
Talking about AI in music, told us, “It’s a bane. I personally don’t really support AI songs. Because art is all about artists. I think art is never artificial intelligence. I feel now it has been called off. I’ve seen a lot of news about it.”
The singer added that all streaming platforms and big companies are not supporting the one creating AI-generated music. “Because art should always come from within, right? It can’t be computerised,” she told Zoom. Continuing the conversation, Aastha recalled being stereotyped in her music career.
“100 per cent, I was actually stereotyped as a banger artist. Whenever I used to go to labels, they used to tell me come up with a banger. In today’s time, you cannot tell what’s a banger. A sad romantic song can also be a banger. So, banger ka definition has completely changed in today’s time. I feel Fursat is also a banger. Banger is anything that people are liking, I feel. Earlier, bangers used to be high energy party songs,” mentioned Aastha.
According to the singer, the choice of music has beocme vast and there’s a lot music. In her opinion, people are making all sorts of music now.
Aastha Gill talks about new song Fursat
Talking about her new song Fursat, the said it celebrates self-love. “If you hear the song carefully, it’s a romantic story between a guy and a girl or two lovers. But we wanted to contrast it in the video and show that love we talk about in today’s time, can be any sort of love. And in the video, it’s mostly about self love,” she said.
On a concluding note, Aastha said sometimes one needs time off and feel free to realise that the biggest love present is self-love.
