Actor Aamir Khan is set to revisit the iconic village near Bhuj where his Oscar-nominated film ‘Lagaan’ was shot over two decades ago.
The superstar is set to return for a special screening of his latest blockbuster ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’, bringing with him not just nostalgia, but also a new wave of storytelling.
The screening is part of a to bring cinema closer to the people. ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’, which has already earned widespread praise across India, is now available for audiences on YouTube under a pay-per-view model. Proudly referring to the platform as “Janta Ka Theatre”, Khan emphasises the democratisation of film access, particularly for audiences in rural and remote regions.
Aamir Khan Productions has proudly presented 10 rising stars: Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishna Varma, Samvit Desai, Vedant Sharma, Ayush Bhansali, Ashish Pendse, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Naman Mishra, and Simran Mangeshkar through the film.
Directed by R S Prasanna, ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ received appreciation and love from all quarters.
Meanwhile, after previously dismissing the possibility of an OTT release for ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’, Aamir Khan has now officially embraced the digital route. On Tuesday, July 29, the actor announced that the film will stream on YouTube as a pay-per-view feature.
Beginning August 1, the film will be available on Aamir’s official YouTube channel, Aamir Khan Talkies: Janta Ka Theatre, at a viewing price of Rs 100.
