Aamir Khan DISCLOSES Sitaare Zameen Par’s Whopping Budget And Rift Over OTT Release

Aamir Khan shocked the internet when he stated that his movie, Sitaare Zameen Par will be immediately released on YouTube, opposed to an OTT contract. The movie was made available on YouTube on August 1 after its worldwide release in theatres on June 20th. He disclosed that he is yet to make from this movie, which cost him almost Rs 122 crore. While it remains to see if the actor made the right decision in opting for pay-per-view following its theatrical release, he spoke about Sitaare Zameen Par’s performance on YouTube.

Aamir Khan revealed some startling information regarding the precise sum of money that has been invested in Sitaare Zameen Par when he spoke on entertainment journalist Matthew Belloni’s podcast, The Town. The actor disclosed that his portion of Sitaare Zameen Par had originally cost Rs 96 crore, but that after his partner objected to his ‘rash idea,’ the price increased dramatically.

Aamir Khan explained, “This film cost us $11 million ( ₹96 crore). I had to pay a price also because I had a partner with me earlier, and then they weren’t very keen on this rash idea of mine. They didn’t like me turning down money, so they preferred that I but them out. So, the film has cost me over $14 million, let’s say between $14 and $15 million ( ₹122-131 crore) is what the cost of the film for me is.”
