Aakash Chopra Picks India Playing XI For 2nd T20I vs Ireland, No Place For Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Again

India and Ireland will lock horns in the second and last T20I of the series on Sunday (June 28). The fixture is a must-win game for India and a defeat here will see them lose the first-ever series against Ireland.

The Men in Blue cannot win the series now. Ahead of the all-important game, Aakash Chopra picked India’s playing XI. The former India opener didn’t include Vaibhav Sooryavanshi in his playing XI. He handed a debut to Prince Yadav and included Ravi Bishnoi in his final XI. The noted commentator dropped Prasidh Krishna and Washington Sundar.

“Prince Yadav is sitting outside in this team. He comes in. So I feel Prince Yadav can get a chance here. He can make his T20I debut here. You should make one change where Prince comes in and Prasidh goes out,” Chopra said on his YouTube channel.

“The second change I am thinking about is that you should leave Washington Sundar out because you are not going to bowl him in these conditions. Shivam Dube is already bowling decently. So you have two options left,” he added.

Prasidh leaked 57 runs in his spell in the series opener and went wicketless as Ireland put on a total of 182 on the board. He wasn’t part of the original squad and came in as Mohammed Siraj’s replacement.

Sundar only bowled one over and went for 19 runs. He used to bowl with the new ball early in his career but isn’t used as a strike bowler now.

No place for Vaibhav Sooryavanshi

Chopra didn’t include Vaibhav Sooryavanshi in his playing XI once again. He retained the opening pair of Ishan Kishan and Abhishek Sharma. Sooryavanshi remained on the bench in the series opener and is unlikely to get a chance in the second game as well.

Following the second , Team India will fly to England for 5 T20Is and 3 ODIs. Jasprit Bumrah will make his return for the ODI series.

Aakash Chopra’s playing XI for 2nd T20I vs Ireland: Abhishek Sharma, Sanju Samson, Ishan Kishan, Shreyas Iyer, Tilak Varma, Shivam Dube, Axar Patel, Harshit Rana, Arshdeep Singh, Prince Yadav, Ravi Bishnoi
