Speaking in an exclusive interview with News9Live, his son Ravi Shankar shared details about the decision. He said, “Yes, my father had already pledged to donate his body about 10 years ago. It was something he had clearly willed. In fact, both my parents had made that decision—my mother has also pledged her body. It was their personal wish.”
He further added, “There wasn’t any specific incident that led to the decision. It was simply his desire that his body should be useful for medical research and education. He believed that even after death, it could contribute to something meaningful, and that thought stayed with him.”
