No interference from UCC in tribal traditions: Minister Vijay Shah
Shah strongly rejected the objections raised by the opposition. He clarified that UCC does not interfere in the customs, traditions or lifestyle of tribal communities. Shah told ANI, “I welcome it. I believe the upcoming Uniform Civil Code will start a new chapter for the citizens of the country. Perhaps they (Congress) have not read the draft; it is very clearly stated in it. There is absolutely no interference with the customs, traditions, cultural values, practices or lifestyle of the tribal communities.”
Urging the opposition to review the draft instead of spreading misinformation, the minister said, “Therefore, there is no reason to mislead people or raise objections based on misconceptions.
