Modi-Manturov Meeting Focuses on Strategic Partnership
Sharing the details of the meeting in a post on X, the Russian Embassy said that the leaders also discussed steps to implement agreements reached during the 23rd bilateral summit, which took place in New Delhi last year between PM Modi and President Putin.
The embassy further underlined that during the meeting between PM Modi and Russian Deputy PM Manturov, particular attention was paid to further strengthening the Russia-India Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership, with a focus on trade, economic, investment, energy and industrial cooperation.
The post said, “On April 2, in New Delhi, First Deputy Chairman of the Government of Russia, Co-Chairman of the Russia-India Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technical and Cultural Cooperation Denis Manturov held a meeting with India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Sitharaman Discusses Economic Cooperation
On Thursday, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman met with Russia’s First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov in New Delhi and discussed ways to strengthen bilateral trade and investment ties between the two countries.
According to a post on social media platform X by the Ministry of Finance, the meeting focused on expanding economic cooperation and other areas of mutual interest between India and Russia.
“Union Minister for Finance and Corporate Affairs Smt. @nsitharaman met Mr. Denis Manturov, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, in New Delhi today,” the ministry said on X. “The two leaders exchanged views on strengthening trade & investment ties and discussed issues of mutual interest,” it said.
Deepening India-Russia Ties
The meeting comes amid continued engagement between India and Russia to deepen economic cooperation and enhance bilateral trade and investment.
India and Russia share a long-standing “Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership” that covers multiple areas of cooperation, including trade and investment, energy, science and technology, nuclear energy, defence and space collaboration. (ANI)
