The Narayan Seva Sansthan launched a relief campaign for the Punjab flood -affected families. Dr. Vivek Garg’s team distributed bread, water, medicines and necessary materials in villages like Ajnala, Malikpur, Kotar Zada.
Chandigarh The Narayan Seva Sansthan took a fast step to help the families affected by the severe floods in Punjab. The institute president Prashant Aggarwal and Director Vandana Aggarwal decided to launch a relief campaign. The responsibility of this campaign was entrusted to the 8 -member team, which was led by Dr. Vivek Garg.
Truck filled with relief material leaves
Director of the institute Palak Aggarwal said that a truck filled with relief material was sent from the Kaithal Seva Kendra. Daya Gupta flagged off this truck. Relief materials were especially designed for children, women and families who became homeless due to floods.
What was sent in relief material
The institute’s team sent a large amount of material to reach the needy, including:
- 1000 packet bread
- 1200 bottle bicory water
- 2 quintal gram
- 1000 packet powder milk
- 1050 packet salty
- 1000 sweet biscuits
- 1000 salty biscuits
- Hundreds of Tarpal
- Medicines for more than 2000 people
- Antiseptic cream, sanitary pads and other essential food items
Service in villages settled near the border
The team of the institute reached the villages adjacent to the border of Pakistan – Ajnala, Malikpur, Kotar Zada, Sufiyan and Alive Kotli. There the team distributed materials to the flood victims and understood their problems closely.
Special attention to health services
The team also paid attention to health services along with providing relief. Medicines, antiseptic and other medical materials were distributed to prevent diseases spreading due to floods. The immediate needs were known by communicating with children, women and the elderly.
Local people expressed gratitude
This service spirit of Narayan Seva Sansthan was well appreciated by the people of the village. After getting help, a smile of relief returned to the faces of the victim’s families. This campaign showed that the service of humanity is the greatest religion.
