According to religious belief, Kalashtami is worshiped during Nisha period. Therefore, this time the fast of Kalashtami will be observed on 9 April 2026.

Puja method of Kalashtami fast
On the day of Kalashtami, a resolution to fast is taken after taking bath in the morning and special worship of Lord Kaal Bhairav is done at night. First of all install the idol or picture of Lord Kaal Bhairav. After this offer mustard oil, black sesame seeds, flowers and coconut. Light a lamp and perform aarti and chant Bhairav Chalisa or mantras. Feeding a black dog on this day is also considered auspicious. And finally the fast is broken by distributing Prasad.
