New Delhi: Hanuman Jayanti is one of the biggest occasions celebrated in India by every Hindu. It is a day of devotion, fasting and preparing delicious prasad items to impress Lord Hanuman and celebrate his birth with great enthusiasm and love. Known as the lord of strength, protection and peace, these prasad items are his favourite and are said to be offered for blessings.
Since Lord Hanuman is widely known as a Brahmachari and a devotee of Lord Rama, the bhog prepared for him reflects sattvic values—clean, balanced and made without onion or garlic. Lord Hanuman was known to be fond of sweets, and hence, on this day, prasad with sugar and jaggery is prepared to offer him during the prayers and rituals.
