Car market leader Maruti Suzuki India on Wednesday reported a 16.72 per cent rise in total sales at 2,25,251 units in March 2026 as compared to 1,92,984 units in the same month last year.
Total domestic passenger vehicle sales were at 1,66,219 units last month as compared to 150,743 units in March 2025, a growth of 10.27 per cent, Maruti Suzuki India said in a regulatory filing.
Sales of min cars comprising Alto and S-Presso were at 11,741 units as compared to 11,655 units in the year-ago month.
Compact car, including Baleno, Celerio, Dzire, Ignis, Swift, WagonR sales rose at 71,789 units last month as compared to 66,906 units in March 2025.
Sales of utility vehicles consisting of Brezza, Ertiga, e Vitara, Fronx, Grand Vitara, Invicto, Jimny, Victoris, and XL6, were at 71,356 units as compared to 61,097 units in the same month a year ago.
Sales of light commercial vehicle (LCV) Super Carry stood at 3,209 units as compared to 2,391 units in the same month last year, Maruti Suzuki India said.
For the 2025-26 fiscal year, total sales were at 24,22,713 units as against 22,34,266 units in 2024-25, the company said.
