Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday held a key meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) to review measures taken during the evolving situation in the Middle East.
The PM-led meeting also focused on India’s preparedness and the potential implications of war for India’s energy security, supply chains and overall macro-economic stability.
Taking to X, the PM said that the Cabinet committee reviewed the steps being taken by various departments and ministries in the wake of the ongoing West Asia conflict.
The latest meeting was the second to be convened since the Middle East crisis unfolded. PM said, “Chaired a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS). Reviewed the steps being taken by various Ministries and Departments in the wake of the ongoing West Asia conflict, and also discussed the next set of initiatives to be taken. Aspects relating to sectors like energy, agriculture, fertilisers, aviation, shipping and logistics were discussed.
In the meeting, the Cabinet Secretary was also present, who briefed about the action taken to ensure the supply of petroleum products, particularly LNG/LPG, and sufficient power availability, an official release said.
During the meeting, the PM assessed the availability of critical needs for the common man. Among the crucial items discussed were fertilisers, oil, gas, etc.
PM Modi assessed the availability of fertilisers in the country and steps being taken to ensure their availability in the Kharif and Rabi seasons. He asserted that all efforts must be made to safeguard the citizens from the impact of this conflict.
