ICC Latest Rankings: ICC has released the latest T20I rankings. India’s star batsmen have continued to perform brilliantly. Abhishek Sharma continues to hold the top position, while Ishan Kishan is right behind him at the second position. There has been only one change in the top-10, England’s experienced wicketkeeper batsman Jos Buttler has moved up one place to eighth position, on the other hand, New Zealand’s Tim Seifert has slipped one place to 9th position. At the same time, South African young player Connor Esterhuizen has benefited the most this time.
Connor Esterhuizen created a stir
24 year old South African batsman Connor Esterhuizen has created a stir at the very beginning of his international career. In the recently played T20 series against New Zealand, he scored 200 runs and won the title of Player of the Series. On the basis of this brilliant performance, he has directly reached 39th position in the ranking of T20I batsmen, before this his name was not even in the top-10 batsmen. He has left behind 64 players together.
His performance against New Zealand was quite excellent. His run total in the five-match series was double that of any other player. South Africa won this series 3-2, in which Connor Esterhuizen’s contribution was important.
Afghanistan and India dominate among bowlers
Afghanistan’s spinner Rashid Khan still remains at number-1 in the bowling rankings. India’s Varun Chakraborty remains in second place. Whereas, fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah is in fifth place. South African bowlers also did wonders in the series against New Zealand. In the pace trio, Gerald Coetzee has moved up 36 places to reach 52nd position. Otniel Bartman has moved up 10 places to 56th and George Linde has moved up 6 places to 62nd.
