After the removal of Article 370 on August 5, 2019, there has been a significant change in the security situation and peace in Jammu and Kashmir, especially in the Kulgam region. Local residents say that earlier, stone pelting and terrorist activities were common, but now they have reduced significantly. Incidents of strikes and unrest have almost ended, due to which normal life has gradually returned to normal. This changed environment has also given impetus to development work and tourism. People have appreciated the efforts of the government to maintain peace, advance development and ensure a safe environment in the region.
