Watch: Nitish Rana–Digvesh Rathi Fight Ends With Laughs— Did Rishabh Pant Intervene Before Lucknow Super Giants vs Delhi Capitals in IPL 2026?

The Lucknow Super Giants will lock horns with Delhi Capitals in Lucknow on Wednesday. While the two teams are gearing up for their first Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 clash, it turned out to be a Delhi boys’ meet up.

Nitish Rana who has now joined Delhi Capitals was spotted some fun chat with Rishabh Pant and Digvesh Rathi. While Rishabh is the skipper of LSG, Digvesh is an important member of the spin department.

Not Just a Meet up

Nitish Rana and Digvesh Rathi were involved in an on-field altercation during the Delhi Premier League (DPL) last year and had a heated exchange at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. But it seemed Rishabh Pant who also plays for Delhi at the domestic level played the mediator to settle down the things between the two players.

“It’s not about who’s right or wrong. He came to win the match for his team, and I came to win for mine. But respecting the game of cricket is my responsibility, and it’s his as well. He was the one who started it, I won’t say how or what happened, because that would be unfair,” Rana said during a media interaction after the match.

“But yes, if someone pokes me or gets in my face, I’m not someone who will just sit quietly. Because this is how I’ve always played my cricket. If someone pokes me, and they think they’ll get me out by provoking me, then I can also hit back with sixes. What happened yesterday was an example of that,” he added.

Nitish Rana Joins DC from RR

Nitish Rana joined Delhi Capitals after a trade from Rajasthan Royals. Nitish, who was bought for INR 4.2 crore at the mega auction ahead of IPL 2025, scored only 217 runs in 11 matches for the franchise. Nitish also represented the Kolkata Knight Riders franchise from 2018 to 2024. He also led the franchise in 2023 when Shreyas Iyer was sidelined due to injury.

The left-handed batter has played for three franchises till now and scored 2853 runs in 118 matches at an average of 27.97. Nitish has 20 fifties to his name in the cash-rich league.
