Many UPI users have complained of payment related issues, and many of them have also shared their problems on social media platform X. Downdetector has also seen a huge surge in the number of complaints, which includes more than 500 complaints of payment issues related to State Bank of India (SBI). Many UPI users of UCO Bank have also lodged complaints on the same issue. According to Downdetector, more than 50 complaints were filed on April 1, 2026, at around 1:00 pm.
A user named @SamantaMajumder said that on #SBIFoolsday, April 1, only SBI is joking with people. Since morning I have been trying to send money through UPI, but it is being shown again and again that the server is down.

Another user named UDDIPTA KUMAR NATH raised this problem and tagged SBI. He wrote on X, @TheOfficialSBI @OfficialSBICare your online system is down since 11 am. This is causing a lot of trouble to many customers! Fix it asap!! In today’s time, people mostly do online transactions (only UPI), the trend of keeping cash with people has reduced considerably.

Earlier today, SBI had informed that its scheduled maintenance work timings have been changed from 11 am to 11:45 am. SBI said in a post on X that the timing of scheduled maintenance work has been changed.
The scheduled maintenance activity timing has been revised, Our services UPI, IMPS, YONO, Internet Banking, NEFT and RTGS may experience disruptions between 11:00 Hrs and 11:45 Hrs (IST) on 01.04.2026 (45 Minutes).
