In the video, a tourist is seen falling straight into the Arabian Sea after the rope breaks in the air during parasailing. It was fortunate that the boat crew present nearby immediately started the rescue operation, due to which a major accident was averted. After the video went viral, serious concerns are being raised regarding the safety of adventure sports at tourist spots in India.
Rope broke, tourist fell into the sea
According to reports, after the incident, Goa Police has started investigation regarding the quality of the operator’s equipment. The incident took place at Baga Beach, one of the most famous tourist spots in Goa. The video that has surfaced was shot from the same boat through which parasailing was being conducted. It is clearly visible in the video that as soon as the parachute rises in the air, the rope attached to it breaks and the tourist falls straight into the sea from a height. It is being told that the boat from which parasailing was being done also carried out the rescue.

It is also visible in the video that more than two people were present on the boat at the time of the incident. This accident has once again exposed the poor quality of equipment and lack of training used in adventure sports in India. Last year too, a paraglider crashed into a rock after taking off from the Kerry Plateau in Goa. A 27-year-old woman from Pune and her 26-year-old instructor died in this accident.
Anger erupted on social media
After the video went viral, people are venting their anger on social media. Many users have demanded a complete ban on such sports and 100% equipment audit. One user wrote, “How many more accidents do we need before strict rules are implemented on adventure sports? There must be 100% equipment audit now.” Another user wrote that those organizing such sports are only interested in gathering crowds and not in ensuring the safety of the equipment.
