25 kg hydroponic ganja has been seized in Hyderabad. It is also called hydro hemp. This action has been taken by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI). According to IANS report, the value of the ganja seized from Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) in Shamshabad is said to be Rs 8.9 crore. The action team has seized it from a passenger who had come from Bangkok. Smuggling of hydrophonic ganja has increased in recent times.
According to officials, this banned material was recovered during the search of the passenger’s luggage. Two people have been arrested in this entire case.Action has been taken against the accused under NDPS Act. The Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act says that even possession of a small amount of ganja can lead to imprisonment of up to one year or a fine of up to Rs 10,000 or both, but the accused can get bail from the police station.
