Arshdeep Singh Makes IPL History with 11 Balls in One Over

New Chandigarh, April 1: Arshdeep Singh, the fast bowler for Punjab Kings, has made headlines for an unusual record. The 27-year-old left-arm bowler bowled 11 balls in a single over during the fourth match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 against Gujarat Titans. This marks the longest over in terms of deliveries in IPL history. Arshdeep is now among five other bowlers who have achieved this feat.

In the match held at the Maharaja Yadavendra Singh International Cricket Stadium, Arshdeep bowled his over in the 20th over of Gujarat Titans’ innings. By that point, the Titans had scored 150 runs while losing six wickets after 19 overs.

When the ball was handed to Arshdeep, he delivered a wide on the first ball of the new over. The next two legal deliveries resulted in no runs for Rahul Tewatia. Tewatia hit a four on the third ball. Following that, Arshdeep bowled a no-ball and two wides. The fourth legal delivery was a dot ball. Tewatia managed a single on the fifth ball, but Arshdeep followed up with another wide. The final delivery of the over was bowled at a speed of 134.1 km/h to Rashid Khan.

Before Arshdeep, five bowlers had previously bowled 11 balls in a single over: Mohammed Siraj (2023), Tushar Deshpande (2023), Shardul Thakur (2025), Sandeep Sharma (2025), and Hardik Pandya (2025).

In the ongoing match in New Chandigarh, Gujarat Titans batted first after losing the toss, scoring 162 runs for the loss of six wickets. Captain Shubman Gill contributed the most with 39 runs, while Jos Buttler added 38 runs and Glenn Phillips chipped in with 25 runs. For Punjab Kings, Vijaykumar Vaishak took three wickets, while Yuzvendra Chahal and Marco Jansen claimed two and one wickets, respectively.
