To accelerate the goal of making Uttar Pradesh a one trillion dollar economy, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given instructions to deploy ‘Chief Minister Fellows’ in every district. These experts will prepare a new strategy at the district level through economic development and data analysis.

The government is working rapidly on the goal of making Uttar Pradesh a trillion dollar economy. In this direction, the state government is now going to implement a new system at the district level. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed that ‘Chief Minister Fellows’ should be deployed in every district of the state, who will analyze local economic activities and find new possibilities of development. In a high-level meeting held in Lucknow on Monday, the Chief Minister said that economic development at the district level should now be taken forward on the basis of data and evidence, so that the impact of the schemes is clearly visible on the ground.

Two experts will be deployed in every district

It was decided in the meeting that two experts would be deployed as ‘OTD Chief Minister Fellows’ in every district. These will include an economic development expert and a data analyst. The job of these experts will be to study in depth the local resources, investment possibilities and economic activities of the district. Based on this, a new development strategy will be prepared at the district level. The government believes that this arrangement will promote investment in the districts and create new employment opportunities at the local level.

District OTD cell will get a strong base

The Chief Minister said that the OTD (One Trillion Dollar) cell present in every district should be further strengthened. The Chief Minister will work closely with the Fellows in Sales and collect data related to economic activities. Through this, development plans can be implemented more effectively at the district level.

Progress report will have to be given every month

The Chief Minister also directed that the monthly progress report of the ongoing economic activities in the district should be uploaded on the online dashboard. Apart from this, progress will also be reviewed every three months at the Principal Secretary and Secretary level. Fellows will also be given the responsibility to analyze the data related to the economic activities of the district and give development related suggestions to the administration from time to time.

What will be the qualification of ‘Chief Minister Fellow’

The qualifications required for these posts were also discussed in the meeting. According to the planning department, an economic development specialist may be required to have a Masters or MBA in Economics, Applied Economics, Econometrics, Finance or Data Science. Whereas for Data Analyst, the qualification of Masters or MBA in Statistics, Applied Statistics, Econometrics, Business Analytics or Data Science can be decided.

Data based decisions will increase investment and employment

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the aim of this initiative is to strengthen the data-based decision system at the district level. The government believes that when development plans are made on the basis of local data and needs, then investment will increase, employment opportunities will be created and the economy of the state will get a new impetus.
