When the priest came back again, he found the idol of Lord Krishna lean. Seeing this, Adi Guru Shankaracharya said that God has become thin due to not offering enjoyment during the eclipse. Since then, the doors of the temple are not closed even during the eclipse and God is offered 10 times daily.

This temple is closed for only 2 minutes, the rest of the day this temple is open. The closure of the temple is from 11.58 to 12 noon. Also, whoever worships in this temple is also given an ax with the key because if the lock of the temple is not opened with the key for some reason, then the lock should be broken with an ax. It is believed that this statue of Lord Krishna installed here is not able to tolerate hunger, so the priest is allowed to break the lock if not open with the key.

It is believed that the statue of Lord Krishna installed in this temple was installed by the Pandavas and also built the temple. Later the local people started worshiping Lord Krishna as a village deity. But due to not being able to worship properly, the mustard immersed this statue in the river. After many years, this statue was found to Mangalayam Swamier. He again established this statue by building a grand temple here. The structure of the temple currently visible here is 1500 years old.
