Cars expected to launch in April 2026: Check list from SUVs and premium saloons

New Delhi: 2026 has been quite eventful as far as car launches go, both in the international and the Indian market. April too is looking like it will be as thrilling as the three months before it this year, with updated SUVs, brand-new EVs and long-awaited debuts also set to arrive. 

It is likely that mass-market players like the luxury brands and carmakers are lining up launches that might be quite impactful. Plus, it is the perfect time to cash in on rising demand in the new financial year. 

Volkswagen Taigun facelift

Volkswagen will finally unveil the refreshed Taigun on April 9th, and a launch could follow quite closely. The update is expected to focus on sharper styling, with redesigned lighting elements and subtle cosmetic tweaks to make it quite modern. Interior-wise, the changes are likely to centre around the addition of tech and comfort, which includes a bigger digital display and new back-seat features. 

Under the bonnet, it is likely to come with a 1.0-litre eight-speed automatic gearbox with the 1.0-litre TSI engine that could make driving smoother while also improving efficiency a little.

In the premium segment, Mercedes-Benz is coming with the electric version of the CLA saloon. The model will be offered in two trims, both coming with rear-wheel drive and a claimed range of 792 km for the higher trim. In terms, it is expected to come with large screens, a full-length glass roof and high-speed charging ports. It is likely to be priced between Rs 55 lakh and Rs 60 lakh (ex-showroom). 

Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella

Toyota’s first mass-market EV offering in India, the Urban Cruiser Ebella, is also nearing a launch. It will come with two battery options that have a claimed range of 440 km and 543 km. To make the ownership a little more flexible, the brand could also introduce a Battery-as-a-Service option, which might lower the initial cost for buyers.

MG Motors is preparing to roll out the Majestor, a reworked version of its flagship SUV. The brand aims to make the car much more robust, both in terms of design and what it is capable of. Apart from the visual changes, the cabin is likely to come with more features, including a larger instrument display and added convenience tech. Safety and off-road ability are also being improved and are coming with ADAS and hardware that can be used for off-roading.
