Nalanda, Bihar: A sad news came from Nalanda on Tuesday morning. A sudden stampede broke out in the Maghada Devi temple on the occasion of Mata Shitala Ashtami, in which eight people died and many were injured. A huge crowd of devotees had gathered in Maghada temple since morning. Since it was the last Tuesday of the month of Chait, people had come since morning for worship. Suddenly the rumor spread and within no time a stampede occurred. Many people fell down in the crowd and people started climbing on each other. Eight people died within a short period of time. The injured were immediately admitted to Model Hospital, Bihar Sharif. According to hospital sources, the condition of many people is said to be critical.
