Ravindra Jadeja, who returned to Rajasthan Royals after 13 years, revealed the reason for his ‘gun fire’ celebration against CSK. He said that he will continue this celebration for his new team also. In the match he took 2 wickets for 18 runs.
Guwahati: Ravindra Jadeja has explained the reason behind his ‘gun fire’ celebration after dismissing Shivam Dubey against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the nineteenth season of IPL. This celebration is becoming quite viral. Let us tell you that after playing for Chennai for 13 years, Jadeja has returned to his old team Rajasthan Royals this time.
This incident happened in the eighth over of Chennai’s innings. Shivam Dubey played a shot on Jadeja’s ball, which was caught by Ravi Bishnoi. As soon as he got the wicket, Jadeja celebrated in his famous ‘gun fire’ style. Regarding this, Jadeja told Jio Hotstar, “I used to celebrate like this even while playing for Chennai. So I thought that since I have come to Rajasthan, why not continue it here also.”
Ravindra Jadeja was an important part of the Chennai Super Kings team from 2012 to 2025. Ahead of the 2026 season, CSK made a trade to add Sanju Samson to their squad, with Jadeja and Sam Curran being dealt to Rajasthan Royals.
On changing the team, Jadeja said, “It was emotionally difficult to leave a team after playing with it for 12-13 years. But I realized that this is a part of the journey. It is a matter of happiness for me that I have come back to the team that won my first IPL trophy. My IPL journey started from here after the Under-19 World Cup. Those memories will always be special.”
Jadeja did not get a chance to bat in this match, but he did wonders with the ball against his old team. He took the important wickets of Sarfaraz Khan and Shivam Dubey while giving just 18 runs in three overs. After losing the toss and batting first, Chennai team was reduced to 127 runs. In reply, Rajasthan won the match by eight wickets with 47 balls remaining.
