The trailer opens with Zendaya returning as Rue Bennett, who now finds herself under interrogation by Drug Enforcement Administration agents. They question her about a recent trip to Mexico. Rue denies ever travelling there, but the footage quickly hints that she may be hiding something far more dangerous. By the end of the preview, it becomes clear that Rue is once again caught in a risky situation that could threaten her life.

Season three takes a significant leap forward in time. The story moves beyond high school, placing the characters firmly in the adult world. As they face relationships, responsibility and personal struggles, the narrative promises deeper emotional stakes than ever before.

Fans also witness the return of familiar faces. Cassie, played by Sydney Sweeney, crosses paths again with Maddie, portrayed by Alexa Demie. Their unexpected reunion appears to shock Nate Jacobs, played by Jacob Elordi, who shares a complicated history with both women.
Other returning cast members include Hunter Schafer, Maude Apatow, Eric Dane, Martha Kelly, Chloe Cherry, and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje.
The trailer also features one of the final on-screen appearances of Eric Dane as Cal Jacobs. The actor passed away last month after battling ALS.
According to the official synopsis, the characters will “wrestle with the virtue of faith, the possibility of redemption and the problem of evil.” The storyline suggests a darker, more mature tone as the once-teenage characters navigate adulthood.
Season three also introduces an impressive list of new performers. Among the additions are Oscar nominee Sharon Stone, singer Rosalía, and actor Danielle Deadwyler, along with several other fresh faces.
