When will Gauri Vrat start?

According to the Panchang, Ashadh Shukla Ekadashi tithi will start on July 24, 2026 at 9:12 am and will end on July 25 at 11:34 am. Since fasts and festivals are celebrated according to Udaya Tithi, Gauri Vrat will be considered to start from 25th July 2026.

How is puja done for five days?

During Gauri Vrat, Goddess Gauri, Lord Shiva and Shri Ganesha are worshiped every morning and evening. At many places, statues of these three are made from sacred soil and installed. After this, flowers, akshat, roli, sandalwood, fruits and sweets are offered by lighting a lamp. During the puja, mantras of Mata Gauri and Lord Shiva are chanted. In many families, every evening after Aarti, the tradition of bhajan-kirtan and night vigil is also followed. Satvik food is eaten for the entire five days and the rules of fasting are followed.

When will Gauri Vrat end?

After worshiping for five days, Gauri Vrat is broken on the day of Ashadh Guru Purnima. This year the fast will end on Wednesday, July 29, 2026. According to the Panchang, Purnima Tithi will start from 6:18 pm on July 28 and will continue till 8:05 pm on July 29. According to Udaya Tithi, Guru Purnima will be celebrated on 29th July and Gauri Vrat will be observed on the same day.
