Whatsapp Unread Chat Summary Feature: WhatsApp may soon bring a new feature called Unread Chat Summary. With its help, users will be able to see a short summary of unread messages without reading the entire chat. This feature is currently being tested in Android beta version.
Nowadays, people receive dozens of WhatsApp messages every day. Many times it happens that due to work commitments, people are not able to view their chats on time. Especially in group chats, so many messages come that it becomes difficult to read everything. Understanding this problem, WhatsApp is preparing to bring a new feature, named Unread Chat Summary. With the help of this feature, users will be able to see a small summary of unread messages without reading the entire chat.
What is Unread Chat Summary feature?
Unread Chat Summary will be a feature that will read multiple unread messages and create a short and simple summary of them. That is, if hundreds of messages have come in a group, then the user will not need to open and read every message. Just by looking at a summary he will understand what the conversation was about. This feature can be especially useful for those who are part of multiple WhatsApp groups.

How will this new feature work?
To make this feature secure, WhatsApp is using a special technology, which is called Private Processing. When a user requests to view a chat summary, only new and unread messages will be processed. After this their short summary will be prepared inside a secure system.
The most important thing is that during this process, neither WhatsApp nor its parent company Meta Platforms will be able to see the user’s messages or their summary. This is the reason why it is considered safer than other AI tools.
Users will get complete control
This feature will be completely optional. That means it will not be forcibly turned on for all users. Users will be able to decide for themselves which chats they want to see and which not. Apart from this, Private Processing will also be off by default. If a user wants to use it then he will have to go to settings and turn it on. This will give users complete control over their data.
The feature is still in testing phase
Currently this new feature is being tested in the beta version of Android. Right now it is not available for all users. The company is working on improving this feature and after the testing is completed, it can be gradually released to more users.
What will be the benefit to the users
As the use of messaging apps is increasing, the pressure of messaging is also increasing. Many times people also miss important messages. Unread Chat Summary feature will help users save time. Instead of scrolling through long chats, they’ll get a short and simple summary so they can quickly understand what happened in the conversation.
