When her mother, Aarti Devi, tried to stop her husband, she also suffered injuries. The girl has been idenfitied as Pooja Rani, a student of Class 6 at a government primary school. She was the eldest among the four children of the couple.
She went to buy candies on Thursday after the Navratri feast and allegedly took a box of candies. She reportedly did not pay for it, and when her father, Pushpendra Kumar, a milkman, found it about the incident, he mercilessly beat her with sticks.
Police registers case
Kumar, after killing his daughter, locked his wife and children inside the house to prevent them from calling anyone. In the evening, he left the house and Aarti got the chance to alert the neighbours. They called police the next morning.
Aarti said that her husband ruthlessly beat her daughter with a stick in a fit of rage, and when she begged him to stop, he hit her too. The police have registered a case of murder against the accused and are trying to nab him.
