UP: BSF Jawan’s body found with gunshots, FIR filed

Meerut: In a shocking incident, a BSF jawan was found dead at his home in Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut district on Saturday. His body was found with gunshots and efforts are o to find those behind the incident, the police said.

The incident took place at Dhanpur village within the Inchauli police station limits of the district. Speaking to news agency PTI, SHO Bajrang Prasad said that the deceased BSF constable Nain Singh (35), had come to his village on leave. The police filed the case after receiving a complaint by the family members of the deceased.

Efforts on to track the accused

Sharing further details, the police said that efforts are on to track the accused in the case and bring them to justice. As per family members of the deceased, he had come home on March 6. The jawan was to report for duty on April 1.

In his village home, deceased used to live along with family, including brother Pradeep, Pradeep’s wife Priyanka, and their two children. On Friday morning, Pradeep had left for Jaisalmer to report to his duty, while other family members paid a visit to relatives. However, only Nain Singh and his brother’s wife stayed in the house, Hindustan Live reported.

Neighbours opened the door by force

When the door of his room did not open by Saturday afternoon, neighbours were called, after which the door was forcefully opened. The deceased body was found lying on a cot inside. The police reached the spot after receiving the information.

While the incident has sent shockwaves tin the entire region, the jawan’s father has filed a murder complaint against three brothers who stayed nearby. The deceased was posted with the Border Security Force (BSF) in Assam.
