New Delhi: A 25-year-old ice-cream seller was beheaded in Uttar Pradesh’s Barabanki on Saturday. The accused is a 50-year-old man, who reportedly first slit the throat of the ice-cream seller and then cut off his head. The horror however did not stop there, the accused then carried the severed head to his house.
Man kills ice-cream seller after verbal argument
According to a report in NDTV, the incident happened in Parsawal village of Barabanki district. The accused has been identified as Shankar Yadav. Locals in the area said that there was some verbal exchange between Shankar and the ice-cream seller, identified as Bablu.
Bablu was a regular in the Parsawal village and used to sell ice-cream here. While he was going about his business, he reportedly got involved in an altercation with Yadav.
Yadav then took a sickle and slit Bablu’s throat and cut off his head in full public view. The horror however did not stop there, the man then picked up the severed head of the ice-cream vendor and carried it home.
Accused found casually cooking at home after committing crime: Police
According to the police, when they reached the man’s house and broke open the door, Yadav was found cooking normally. His behaviour was so casual that it seemed that nothing had happened.
The severed head of Bablu was lying nearby.
The police immediately arrested Yadav and seized the murder weapon. They also took away the severed head from the house.
Soon after the murder came to light, the Superintendent of Police Arpit Vijayvargiya had ordered a large police force to be deployed in the village. They also cordoned off the area where the murder took place and then proceeded with arresting the killer.
Bablu, the victim leaves behind his wife and 2 young children. They are inconsolable. He was the eldest among 3 brothers and used to work as a labourer, apart from selling ice-cream to support his family.
The police are yet to determine what exactly led to the murder of the ice-cream seller. They are trying to understand what conversation the 2 men had, before Shankar Yadav killed Bablu with the sickle.
